Peggy Jo Larson was born and raised in the Marshall and Day County area near Langford, South Dakota. She grew up on a farm/ranch with her family. Peggy started playing drums in the fifth grade and continued all through high school. She attended Langford High and graduated in 1980. After graduation, Peggy first attended Presentation College and then Northern State University, both located in Aberdeen, S.D. She holds a Master’s Degree in Guidance and Counseling.

Peggy has worked with children, youth, and families for 25 years in a variety of settings. In 1997, Peggy took a huge “leap of faith” and moved to Spokane, Washington where her aunt and uncle lived, and eventually settled down near the Spokane River at Nine Mile Falls, WA. She worked for a private non-profit agency in Spokane for 8 years, and during this time, began attending St. Luke Lutheran Church. One day in 2003, a dear friend called and said that St. Luke’s worship team needed a drummer and they were having trouble finding a Lutheran with rhythm. The rest is history!

Most recently, Peggy has moved back to South Dakota. She currently plays drums with a contemporary worship team. She attends Falnes Lutheran Church which was established by her ancestors in 1884, and where she has been a lifetime member. Peggy is 100% Norwegian and proud of her heritage. She is passionate about serving children, youth, and families and passionate about music. Peggy’s priorities are her faith, her family, her friends, and of course, fun!

Peggy is presently employed with Avera St.Lukes in Aberdeen, South Dakota and works with the Development Department. She resides on a quaint farmstead near Pierpont, S.D.

Word to the wise, watch out for her evil twin sister, Margaret.
