Dale was born in St. Joseph, Missouri. During his childhood he also lived in Lincoln, Nebraska and Burlington, Iowa. He graduated from Burlington Community High School in 1970, then moved with his family to Billings, Montana. Dale graduated from Billings Business College in 1973 with a BS in accounting. After graduation, Dale started his association with the medical community and eventually worked at both hospitals in Billings.

While living in Billings he was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church and First English Lutheran Church. He started singing in the church choir in 1973 and has continued singing ever since. He presently sings in the St. Luke Chancel Choir in addition to singing with Celebrate Grace.

Dale presently lives on Spokane's north side and works for Sacred Heart Medical Center. He has three wonderful children, Janiece, Jeremy and Josh. Dale is looking forward to retirement so he can pursue his other interests, the main one being woodworking.
